The second Annual Oromo Evangelical Churches Conference in Europe was held in Oslo, Norway from June 9 – 12, 2011. It was great spiritual revival four days event.
The conference began as scheduled on Thursday, June the 9th at 4PM and continued for four days till Sunday night. Rev. Desalegn Mengesha, pastor of the host church and Obbo Yonas Hambisa, chair person of the elders committee, welcomed all those in attendance and Obbo Malkamu Duresso, chair person of UOECE , announced the official opening of the conference.
Thousands of Christians Displaced in Ethiopia after Muslim Extremists Torch Churches, Homes
It has been reported by different sources that another violent mobs of Islamist erupted against Christians in Western Ethiopia around Asandabo, Jima zone on March 2, 2011. According to the report at least one Christian was killed, others injured, 59 churches and at least 28 homes were burned, more than 4,000 Christians in and around Asendabo, Jimma Zone have been displaced. Asendabo, in Oromia Region, is about 300 kilometers (186 miles) from Addis Ababa.
